TRUE REPAIR

Privacy Policy

Effective Date: July 26, 2026

True Repair ("we," "us," "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it — including through Meta (Facebook and Instagram) advertising — and what rights you have over your information.

By using our website, submitting a quote request, texting us photos, or responding to one of our Meta ads or lead forms, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly, when you request a quote, text us photos of a repair, call us, or fill out a form on our site or through a Meta ad:

  • Name
  • Phone number
  • Company address (optional, for business customers)
  • Photos or descriptions of the item or equipment needing repair
  • Any other details you choose to share with us about your repair needs

We also collect leads through Meta Instant Forms on Facebook and Instagram. When you submit one of these forms, Meta collects the information you enter (such as your name and phone number) and shares it with us so we can follow up about your quote. Information you provide within Meta's own platform is subject to Meta's Privacy Policy, not this one.

Information collected automatically, when you visit our website:

  • IP address and general location
  • Browser type, device type, and operating system
  • Pages viewed, time on site, and referring page
  • Interactions with our Meta ads (clicks, views, form starts)

This is collected through cookies, the Meta Pixel, and similar tracking technologies, described further below.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Prepare and send you a fixed quote based on your photos and description
  • Contact you by phone or text to schedule mobile or in-shop service
  • Coordinate mobile service logistics, including your company address if provided
  • Send you service-related text updates (appointment confirmations, quote follow-ups)
  • Measure and improve the performance of our Meta advertising, including our Instant Forms
  • Maintain business records for invoicing, warranty, and legal purposes

We do not use your personal information to make any automated decision that has a legal or similarly significant effect on you.

3. Meta Advertising & Tracking Technologies

We run advertising through Meta (Facebook and Instagram), including Instant Forms, and use the Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API to understand how people interact with our ads and website. These tools may share information with Meta such as:

  • Pages you visited on our site and actions you took (e.g., submitting a quote request)
  • Device and browser information
  • Hashed (encrypted, non-readable) versions of contact details such as your phone number, when you convert through a form, to help Meta match the event to an ad interaction

We use this information to measure ad performance and to show our ads to people likely to be interested in our services. We do not sell this information, and Meta's use of it is governed by Meta's Privacy Policy.

You can manage how Meta uses your data for ad targeting in your Meta Ad Preferences, or opt out of interest-based advertising generally through the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada.

4. SMS & Text Message Communications

If you text us photos or provide your phone number to request a quote, you consent to receive text messages from True Repair related to your quote and service. Message frequency varies based on your interactions with us. Message and data rates may apply.

  • Reply STOP at any time to opt out of text communications
  • Reply HELP for assistance

We do not share your phone number with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Your number is used solely to communicate with you about your repair.

5. Cookies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies (including those placed by Meta and Google Tag Manager) to remember your preferences, understand site usage, and support the advertising practices described above. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, though some site features may not function properly if you do.

6. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate our business and advertising, including:

  • Meta (Facebook/Instagram), for advertising, Instant Forms, and analytics as described above
  • Google (Google Tag Manager), for site analytics
  • Squarespace, our website hosting provider
  • Our SMS/telephony provider, to deliver text communications

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our legal rights, or in connection with a sale or transfer of business assets.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as needed to provide our services, maintain business and warranty records, and comply with legal and tax obligations. Information collected solely for advertising purposes is retained according to Meta's own data retention practices.

8. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and administrative measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Privacy Rights

As an Alberta business, we handle your personal information in accordance with Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where applicable to cross-border data transfers such as those involving Meta, the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). You have the right to:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Withdraw your consent to our collection, use, or disclosure of your information, subject to legal or contractual restrictions
  • Ask us to delete personal information we no longer need for the purposes it was collected

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. If you're not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.

10. Children's Privacy

Our services are directed at adults and businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Our site may link to third-party platforms, including Meta and Google. This policy does not cover, and we are not responsible for, the privacy practices of those third parties.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update.
